Kaixo Donosti!

What better way to start a tour than floating over the city on a tranquil autumnal evening?

What a fantastic Photo, wow! I love the light in this, it seems like something from a film.

What time of day was this? Was the other hang glider in the distance a friend of yours?

Congratulations on a visually spectacular start to your blog!

Hello Seth:

Thanks for the comment. The truth is that I wasn't flying the day in question - I had to work! But the photo is from our club archive at Ostargi Parapente Taldea website. And to set the record completely straight, it's paragliding I do rather than hang-gliding, which is quite a different way of flying.

Ahh... I must admit I wanted to know the difference between the two as several of my students have talked about para/hang gliding as there is lots of it going on here in Trentino but I have no idea what it's called :-/

The film I linked to there anyhow is shot at the top of the mountain behind my house. A beautiful place!

Hello Seth:
This a repeat reply - the last one lost a hyperlink along the way :-(
I liked the video link you posted - a very tranquil 'floaty' kind of flight! But is the place Trento or Trentino? And the difference between paragliding and hang-gliding? Your video was of paragliding - paragliders look much like modern parachutes although their function is *very* different. Hang-gliders have a rigid metal frame and typically elongated 'delta' profile. I still can't get the link to load so look for this on YouTube if you want to see what it is like to fly here: Cruzando la Bahia de la Concha en Parapente.
